The right training for Golfers who want real progress

Most handicap golfers reach a point where they feel they could score lower, yet something keeps getting in the way. This is exactly where our Advanced Golf Instruction Course in Mallorca comes in. Over five days, you train three hours per day in a small group, with clear learning goals, plenty of on course practice and the support of modern video analysis.

With more than 25 years of daily teaching experience at Capdepera Golf, we have seen the same patterns again and again: familiar miss hits, recurring decisions, and that quiet thought of “I know I can do better than this.” Our role is to turn that feeling into clear, workable steps that lead to more consistency, better decisions and, ultimately, lower scores.

Course Summary

This advanced golf course is designed for golfers who already have the course licence or an existing handicap and want to build a more stable game. Over five days we train three hours per day, combining focused work on the range with real learning on the 18 hole golf course.

Small groups allow us to keep coaching personal and flexible. We cover a wide range of topics, starting with the short game because this area usually creates the biggest score differences. Each day we reserve around 45 to 60 minutes for chipping, pitching, bunker play and putting. Short learning blocks, games and simple tests keep training effective and enjoyable.

After the short game we move into the long game and work on the areas that matter most for your ball flight and consistency. Training takes place on our quiet grass driving range at Capdepera Golf.

Where it helps, we use video analysis in every session. We record short clips with voice and graphic feedback and upload them to your personal video library. That way you can revisit the key points after the session and keep training at home.

At the end of each session we summarise what we achieved and set a clear plan for the next day. Your questions shape the focus and your priorities are always part of the plan.

After training you can relax on the clubhouse terrace and enjoy your holiday in Mallorca. Then you decide what comes next: another round of golf, a short hike, or time by the pool and the sea.

All our courses are led by Michel Monnard and Tobias Widmer, Swiss professionals with PGA qualification, who train, support and challenge you to play your best golf.

Real lesson insights from the advanced course

Many questions in our advanced golf course come directly from real situations on the golf course. That is why we created a separate insight section where we show how we work on strategy, strike quality, direction control, bunkers, slopes and chains of mistakes during lessons.

These examples show how our coaching works in practice: not as a fixed programme, but as daily adaptation to the player. Technique, training and decisions are connected and tested directly on the course.

Detailed Course Description

Define Goals

Your personal goal is always the starting point for us. Whether you want more consistency, a clear step forward in your short game or long game, fewer typical mistakes, or simply more confidence on those short putts, we build a simple plan each day and work through the question marks together.

Our sessions are designed to develop your skills steadily, improve your shot quality and create practice routines that actually match what you need. Sometimes that means tightening up precision and repeatability. Sometimes it is about correcting a pattern that keeps showing up. And very often it is about making your on course decisions a little smarter, because that is where scores really change.

Each day builds on the day before. That is why our week courses work so well. Every day we look for the one or two areas that will make a noticeable difference, rather than trying to change everything at once. At the end of each session we agree on the focus for the next day, and your questions and priorities are always part of that plan.

Club Check

At the start of the week we take a relaxed look at your entire golf bag. Equipment choices matter more than many golfers realise, because they have a direct influence on ball flight, shot options and confidence.

During the session we check together whether your clubs really fit your game and your current goals. On the way to the driving range we get to know your motivations, ask about any injuries or physical limitations, and give you a first tour of our practice facilities. This helps us create a clean starting point for the days ahead and avoid unnecessary detours later in the week.

Short Game Practice

The short game is technically diverse, so we always dedicate time to it. We check whether your basic shots are functional and stable under different lies.

Clean contact, distance and direction control, spin control and adaptation to different grass situations are always part of the week. If your short game is already solid, we focus on reducing error potential from tricky lies and pressure situations.

Our training sessions are dynamic and varied. We combine different shots and situations to challenge your skills while at the same time building trust in what you can do.

By measuring good and less good shots with Doppler radar, we can see clearly where the differences come from. This allows us to adapt the coaching to your level and move through technical adjustments efficiently. Once the basics are in place, we take that work onto the course, practising from changing lies and different angles to the flag, where the learning really becomes relevant.

The Long Game

Daily work on the long game is where consistency often changes the fastest. With video we can compare day to day and make changes visible, so you know what you are working on and why. Little steps every day make a big difference by the end of the week.

On day one we look for the main reason behind your misses. This can be a concept issue, mobility, contact, or ball flight. We then build learning blocks and keep changes realistic and digestible. Sometimes it takes a few small steps. Sometimes one clear moment creates a new understanding.

Because of years of experience, we know that there is more than one path to better golf. We use that variety to find the solution that fits your body and your game, and our time frame.

We work systematically through typical miss hits: topped shots, thin shots, fat shots, heel strikes and contact that creates the unwanted slice or hook curve. The goal is not perfect positions. The goal is functional movement that you can repeat and trust on the course.

Top: barefoot street football with a ditch running through the field, forcing constant scanning and awareness. Bottom: youth football on perfect grass with fewer surprises and less scanning. In the middle: “In Skill Development create difficulty to oblige the system to adapt.”

Coordination matters. We include short coordination exercises to improve your movement ability and swing control, so changes become stable and usable.

At this point a teacher becomes a coach. We guide you through challenges, support your learning process and help you build key words you can use when you practise on your own.

Common topics we work on during the week include:

  • Better strike with driver and fairway woods for improved distance and direction control
  • Direction control with irons, hybrids, fairway woods and driver
  • Handling slopes, semi rough and rough
  • Shots from fairway and greenside bunkers
  • More length through better contact
  • Solid contact and ball then turf sequencing
  • Wedge distance control from roughly 30 to 90 metres
  • Other topics based on your game and your questions

Modern Learning And Technology

If you are reading this, you are already showing motivation to improve. That is the perfect foundation. We support your progress with modern learning methods that go beyond hitting balls without a plan.

We structure learning in phases with clear goals and exercises. We also talk about emotions and how they influence decision making and execution. Golf improvement is technical, mental and practical at the same time.

For technical change we use modern video analysis daily. All videos we record, including the versions with voice and graphic feedback, are stored in your personal app area, so you can review them later and keep training at home.

Guided Practice And Games

A key part of the course is learning how to practise in a useful way and how to transfer skills from the range to the course.

We create clear tasks that help your brain and body find solutions. Golf requires adaptability: different lies, different distances, wind, firmness and pressure. That is why we use games, targets and simple scoring systems to train decision making and execution.

The brain does not repeat movement in exactly the same way each time. It adapts. In golf this means coordination and adaptability matter more than chasing one perfect swing or putt style.

Our practice environment supports this. We include coordination exercises and varied tasks so your swing becomes more stable under changing conditions.

On-Course Coaching

Our preferred classroom is the golf course. The more time we can spend with you on the course, the faster learning becomes real performance.

That is why the course is always a mix of range and course training. On the course we focus on direction, distance control, strategy and club selection. We build situations that help you recognise patterns and apply your new key ideas when it matters.

Many golfers want to know which club is the right choice in a specific situation or why the ball keeps drifting to the right. After nearly 30 years of teaching we have tested answers and practical solutions for these questions.

This is what we do every day: we work on your game exactly where it makes the biggest difference.
